सिंघाड़े का आटा / Singhara Flour / Water chestnut Flour
Singhare ka atta, also called water chestnut flour is a form of starch. It is obtained from dried water chestnut. It is one of the commonly used ingredients during festivals like Navratri.
Apart from being an ideal food during the fasting period, Singhare ka atta has myriad health benefits. It contains protein, fibre, manganese, potassium, Vitamin B-6, copper etc.
Singhara atta is rich in fibre. Fibre takes longer to digest and thus stops one from binge eating. The flour is rich in potassium and low in sodium, which helps water retention in the body. Not just this, singhara atta is an excellent source of complex carbohydrates and other energy-boosting nutrients like calcium, iron, zinc and phosphorus. During fasting, it's natural that we feel low on energy as the food you eat is different from your regular food.
